North End Beach, Spring Lake Police received reports of a surf kite in the water with no one visible in the area of it. Â Patrolman Michael Palmer, Patrolman James Heine, and water rescue teams were dispatched. Â Shortly after patrols arrival on scene the owner of the kite arrived in his vehicle. Â The owner stated that he had fallen off and lost the kite in the ocean to the north, because of the strong winds he was unable to catch the kite. Â The owner was able to retrieve the kite in Sea Girt after several attempts.

A 14 year old juvenile male from Brielle was taken into custody by Patrolman Emmett Smith.  The juvenile was found to be in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, believed to be under 50 grams of marijuana.  The juvenile was released to a guardian and paperwork was forwarded to the Monmouth County Family Court for further.
