Patrolman Emmett Smith received a report of fraud from a victim in the 000 block of Sussex Avenue. Detective Sergeant Christopher Kucinski is assisting in the investigation.
Patrolman Ryan Reiff received a report of a suspicious incident from a victim in the 300 block of Jersey Avenue.
Sergeant Patrick Gilroy responded to the 1100 block of Third Avenue for a report of criminal mischief.

Subsequent to investigation by Detective Sergeant Christopher Kucinski and Patrolman Joseph Liddy, Ryan Dautorio 30, Forked River was arrested. Dautorio was charged with Burglary, Criminal Trespass and Criminal Mischief for the burglary to a business in the 1400 block of Third Avenue on December 17th.
Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop in the area of Ludlow Avenue and Second Avenue Luis Sanchez-Rodriguez 60, Neptune, was arrested by Patrolman Joseph Liddy. Sanchez-Rodriguez was charged with driving while intoxicated as well as several other motor vehicle offenses.
Patrolman Joseph Liddy and Patrolman Emmett Smith responded to the 1400 block of Third Avenue for a reported burglary to a business. Upon arrival patrols located a broken front door to the business. A check of the interior of the business as well as a canine track were unsuccessful for suspects. Detective Sergeant Christopher Kucinski is assisting in the investigation.

The Spring Lake Police Department is currently accepting applications for Class I Special Officers. Special Officer Class I are hired to assist with the beach front, Third Avenue Business District and various events during the summer season.
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
Must be a citizen of the United States
Must be at least 18 years of age
A minimum of a high school diploma or a GED equivalent
Must be able read, write and speak the English language
Must be in good health and be able to perform the physical demands of the duties assigned
Must be of good moral character and shall not have been convicted of any crime or offense involving moral turpitude or dishonesty that would make him/her unfit to perform the duties of police officer
Selected applicants will be sent to the Monmouth County Police Academy to take part in a mandatory two week training for the position in early April – May 2021.

Subsequent to a motor vehicle accident investigation, Laurie Cooper 59, Point Pleasant was arrested by Patrolman Emmett Smith. Cooper was charged with driving while under the influence as well as several other motor vehicle offenses.
