September 26th

Patrols responded to the area of Washington Avenue for a report of a capsized sail boat. All of the occupants of the boat were accounted for. With the assistance of the US Coast Guard, Manasquan Fire Marine 27 and the Sea Girt Lifeguards the boat was able to be righted. Involved parties refused any further assistance.

September 21st

Patrolman Matthew Phillips received a report of fraud and theft from a victim in the 1100 block of Third Avenue.

James Neuhardt 88, Englewood was arrested by Patrolman Joseph Liddy. Neuhardt was charged with criminal sexual contact, criminal restraint and simple assault from an incident in the 1500 block of Ocean Avenue. Detective Sergeant Christopher Kucinski assisted in the investigation.

Evan Flanagan 39, Kearny was arrested by Patrolman Joseph Liddy. Flanagan was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, believed to be cocaine, possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia, providing false information, and littering. Flanagan was charged after an investigation into an incident on September 19, 2021 at the Spring Lake Train Station.

September 19th

Spring Lake Patrols responded to the area of Brown Avenue Beach for a report of six (6) swimmers in distress. Upon arrival patrols located a portion of the swimmers were assisted out of the water by Sea Girt Lifeguards. The remaining swimmers were assisted by a boat in the area as well as Manasquan Fire Marine 27 Vessel. Only one of the swimmers was transported to the hospital as a precaution.

Spring Lake Patrols responded to the area of Newark Avenue Beach for a report of a swimmer in distress. Upon patrols arrival they found that a friend had assisted the victim to the jetty. Both were assisted off and refused all medical treatment.

September 18th

Spring Lake Police Department, Spring Lake Fire Companies & Spring Lake First Aid Squad responded to the are of the Spring Lake Train Station for a train engine on fire. All of the occupants of the train were evacuated and the fire companies were able to extinguish the fire. Spring Lake Heights Fire Company, South Wall Fire Company and the Monmouth County Fire Marshal responded to assist. No injuries were reported.

Sergeant Sean Duggan received a report of a contractor dispute in the 400 block of Essex Avenue.
