Det. Christopher Kucinski received a report from a Real Estate Agent of fraudulent listing of a home for rent on craigslist. Â The agent reported that the home was currently listed for sale and they had located the home on craigslist with the same pictures and a similar description. Â Det. Kucinski was able to contact the owner of the home and confirm that the listing was fraudulent. Â The listing was removed and craigslist was informed of the issue.

Come on out to Safety Day !
Remember to stop by Safety Day today from 11 am to 3 pm at Marucci Park in Spring Lake (Third Avenue and South Boulevard)
The day will feature a BMX and Skateboard stunt show with riders from the X Games featured on ESPN. They will be performing shows throughout the day.  The riders will also be giving away t-shirts and posters and be available to sign autographs.
Patrolman Emmett Smith and his K9 partner Ersko will be conducting a demonstration on the abilities and functions of the police K9 Unit.
A group from the Jersey Shore University Medical Center Injury Prevention Unit will be on hand for a Bicycle Rodeo with games and prizes.  Attendees are encouraged to bring their bicycles and helmets to participate in the rodeo.
The  members of the Spring Lake Police Department will be issuing Kid Safe ID cards.  Parents will be able to have their child checked for accurate weight, height, and photographed for an identification card that will be issued back to the parent.
Officers will be on hand to inspect child safety seats in vehicles to make sure that they are properly installed.
Officers will be on hand to assist residents with information and enrollment in various programs that are offered by the Spring Lake Police Department. Â We will offer an inside look into the patrol vehicles and answer any questions the kids or parents may have.
Members of the Spring Lake First Aid & Fire Companies will be on hand to give tours of their ambulances and fire trucks.  Members will also be on hand to answer questions.
FREE food and refreshments will also be available.

Spring Lake Police would like to thank Vested Interest in K9 for their generous  donation of a bullet/stab resistant vest for K9 Ersko.  Vested Interest in K9 was able to raise $335,000.00 to purchase the vest for working K9’s throughout the country.
Remember K9 Ersko will be out at Spring Lake Police Safety Day on June 21st from 11 am to 4pm. Â K9 Ersko and Ptl. Smith with be demonstrating their uses & abilities throughout the day. Â Come on out for this and other fun events. Check out our website for more information.
Third Avenue
Speed limit changed to 15 M.P.H.
The speed limit in the Third Avenue Business District has been reduced. Â It been changed to 15 M.P.H. on Third Avenue between Passaic Avenue & Madison Avenue. Â It was also change to 15 M.P.H. on Morris Avenue between Third Avenue & Fourth Avenue.

Road Closed
On June 16th starting at 7:00 am Vroom Avenue will be closed for a paving project. Â Vroom Avenue from Monroe Avenue west to First Avenue will be closed while the paving is completed.
