Matthew Doherty 23, Sea Girt was arrested by Sgt Anthony Ploskonka. Â Doherty was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, believed to be under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of controlled dangerous paraphernalia.

Det. Christopher Kucinski and Sgt. Robert Zoino responded to the 500 block of Brighton Avenue for a report of burglary and theft from an unoccupied residence.
September 7th
Sgt. Patrick Gilroy responded to the 100 block of Salem Avenue for a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. Â Det. Christopher Kucinski is assisting in the investigation.

Sgt. Anthony Ploskonka responded to Worthington Avenue Beach for a juvenile complaint.

Ptl. Michael Palmer responded to the 400 block of Tuttle Avenue for a harassment complaint.

Halloween Safety
 ** Spring Lake has established a curfew for October 30th through November 1st from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am each night.  This applies to anyone under the age of 18 unless accompanied by an adult. **

Spring Lake Columbus Day Italian Festival
The event was postponed today, will be held tomorrow, October 12th.
The Spring Lake Chamber of Commerce will be hosting an Italian Day Festival. Â The day will feature Italian specialties and pastries, face painting, balloons, live music, pony rides, as well as other events. Â The event will run from 12 pm to 5 pm. Â Come on out to enjoy a great event.

On October 10th H.W. Mountz  will be participating in National Walk & Bike to School Day!  Students are encouraged to  bike or walk to school.

On October 4, 2014 the Friendly Sons of Shillelagh will be hosting it’s 1st annual Shillelagh 5K. Â The race will start at 9:30 am on 16th Avenue in Lake Como.
