On January 27th, Ptl. Matthew Phillips and Sgt. Em On January 27th, Ptl. Matthew Phillips and Sgt. Emmett Smith responded to a report of an Attempted Burglary at a construction site on Passaic Avenue. An immediate search of the area was conducted, which identified a suspicious person matching the description of the suspect. With the assistance of Belmar PD, Christopher Guerrero, 30, Perth Amboy was arrested. Guerrero was charged with multiple counts of Burglary, Theft, Trespassing and Receiving Stolen Property. He was lodged at the Monmouth County Jail. On January 31st, Ptl. Joseph Liddy arrested Anthony Morgan, 21, Wall on two outstanding warrants - one from Neptune City Muncipal Court and one from Wall Township Municipal Court. He was processed and released pending future court dates. On February 10th, Ptl. Julia Cutolo conducted a motor vehicle stop on South Blvd and arrested Brittany Iacouzze, 36, Belmar on an outstanding warrant out of Spring Lake Municipal Court. She was processed and released pending a future court date. On February 17th, Ptl. Cutolo attempted a motor vehicle stop on Ocean Avenue. The vehicle failed to stop and sped off at a high rate of speed. With the assistance of Spring Lake Heights PD, the vehicle was later identified. Subsequent investigation identified the operator as a 17-year-old juvenile male from Cliffside Park, NJ. Ptl. Cutolo charged him with Eluding Law Enforcement and multiple traffic offenses. On February 28th, Ptl. Liddy conducted a motor vehicle stop on First Avenue and arrested Anthony Shinn, 26, Manasquan for Driving While Intoxicated. He was processed and released in accordance with John’s Law. On March 11th, Alende Olteanu, 30, New York was charged with Conspiracy, Burglary and Theft of Credit Cards by Detective Sergeant Christopher Kucinski. Following a collaborative investigation with Red Bank PD, Olteanu was identified as being involved in the theft, and subsequent fraudulent use of credit cards, reported by a Brighton Avenue resident in April 2024. Olteanu is currently lodged at the Monmouth County Jail.
*** Burglary Suspect Arrested *** Just after midn *** Burglary Suspect Arrested *** Just after midnight on December 10th, a Monmouth Avenue resident reported an unknown male had just attempted to unlawfully enter his home. Sergeant Smith and Patrolman Phillips immediately responded, along with Sea Girt Police, Spring Lake Heights Police and a Bradley Beach Police K-9 unit. The on scene investigation revealed the same suspect had attempted to enter another home, and had entered at least one unlocked vehicle to rummage through the contents. The suspect fled the area prior to police arrival. In the following days, subsequent investigation by Detective Sergeant Kucinski and Ptl. Phillips positively identified a suspect in these incidents. An arrest warrant was prepared for the suspect, Edward M. Leo, 57, Neptune and he was taken into custody on December 17th by the Neptune Police Department. Leo is charged with 2 counts of Attempted Burglary to an Occupied Residence, Burglary to a Motor Vehicle, Attempted Theft and 4 counts of Trespassing. The investigation is continuing to determine his involvement in other recent incidents in the area. Leo was transported to the Monmouth County Jail where he will be held pending a detention hearing. Residents are urged to continue to secure their homes and vehicles, and to immediately contact the police to report any suspicious activity at 732.449.1234.

Joseph Liddy conducted a motor vehicle stop on Third Avenue and arrested Samantha Rivas, 23, Howell for Driving While Intoxicated. She was processed and released in accordance with John’s Law. On September 1st at 4:27 AM, subsequent to a Suspicious Person investigation, Ptl. Liddy and Officer Michael Guzman arrested Lexiano Harris, 31, New York on an outstanding warrant out of West Orange Court. He was processed and turned over to West Orange Police. On September 2nd at 1:19 AM, Ptl. Julia Cutolo conducted a motor vehicle stop on Fourth Avenue and arrested Andrew Fisher, 26, Doylestown, PA for Driving While Intoxicated. He was processed and released in accordance with John’s Law. On September 2nd at 10:47 AM, Ptl. Liddy arrested Matthew Quinn, 24, Spring Lake for Criminal Mischief and Disorderly Conduct. He was processed and released pending a court appearance. On September 7th at 1:38 AM, Ptl. Liddy conducted a motor vehicle stop on Church Street and arrested Rey Salas, 20, Somerset for Driving While Intoxicated. He was processed and released in accordance with John’s Law. Ptl. Liddy also charged Marc Gonzales-Spina, 18, Kendall Park with Allowing an Intoxicated Subject to Operate a Motor Vehicle. On September 7th at 10:00 PM, Ptl. Liddy conducted a motor vehicle stop on Ocean Avenue and arrested Elias Mendoza, 25, Haledon for Driving While Intoxicated. He was processed and released in accordance with John’s Law. On September 16th Detective Sergeant Christopher Kucinski arrested Estefan Magana, 30, Asbury Park and charged him with Burglary and Theft. This was following an extensive investigation into an occupied home burglary that occurred on Tuttle Avenue in July. He was processed and lodged at the Monmouth County Jail. On September 25th at 2:45 AM, Ptl. Liddy conducted a motor vehicle stop on Fifth Avenue and arrested Carlos Elizald-Gutierrez for Driving While Intoxicated. He was processed and released in accordance with John’s Law.

  1. Subsequent to an investigation from September 2022, Jennifer Rosario-Felix 21, Plainfield was arrested by Patrolman Joseph Liddy. Rosario-Fleix was charged with conspiracy to commit theft. Rosario-Felix was transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institution.

    Officer Matthew Bogdan received a report of a stolen bicycle from the area of the Spring Lake Train Station.

    Patrolman Joseph Liddy responded to the area 100 Second Avenue for a dispute.

    Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop on Church Street near Fourth Avenue, Michael Calascione 30, Matawan was arrested by Patrolman Julia Cutolo. Calascione was charged with driving while intoxicated as well as several other motor vehicle offenses.
