Patrolman William Noble received a report of trespass to a residence in the 400 block of Central Avenue.
October 8th
Subsequent to an investigation, William Greco 54, Belmar was arrested by Patrolman Joseph Liddy. Greco was charged with defiant trespass. Greco was also processed on outstanding warrants out of other jurisdictions. Charges were based on an investigation that began on September 15th.
October 4th
Subsequent to an investigation, Mayelin Ferminmarte 27, Secaucus was arrested by Patrolman Joseph Liddy. Ferminmarte was charged with fraudulent us of a credit card, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, obtaining credit card by fraud, theft of a credit card, trafficking in personal information, forgery, wrongful impersonation, as well as conspiracy. Charges are based on an investigation into an reported incident on August 18th.
September 28th
Patrolman Julia Cutolo received a report of burglary and theft from a motor vehicle in the area of the Spring Lake Train Station.
ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR SPECIAL OFFICER CLASS I – SUMMER 2023
The Spring Lake Police Department is currently accepting applications for Class I Special Officers. Special Officer Class I is hired to assist with the beachfront, Third Avenue Business District, and various events during the summer season.
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Must be a citizen of the United States
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- A minimum of a high school diploma or a GED equivalent
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language
- Must be in good health and be able to perform the physical demands of the duties assigned
- Must be of good moral character and shall not have been convicted of any crime or offense involving moral turpitude or dishonesty that would make him/her unfit to perform the duties of a police officer
Selected applicants will be sent to the Monmouth County Police Academy to take part in mandatory two-week training for the position in early May 2023.

Subsequent to a motor vehicle stop on Pitney Avenue in the area of Third Avenue, Nicholas Ruiz 26, Beachwood was arrested by Patrolman Joseph Liddy. Bermel was arrested based on an active warrant out of another jurisdiction.
September 19th
Patrolman Jeffrey Algor responded to the the 400 block of Ocean Road for a reported neighbor dispute.
September 15th
Patrolman Matthew Phillips received a report of defiant trespass from a residence in the 000 block of Seawood Way.
UPDATE 10/8: Subject was identified and charged
Patrolman Julia Cutolo received a report of theft by deception (ICE SCAM) from a victim in the lobby of police headquarters.
Patrols, Spring Lake Fire, Spring Lake First Aid, and the After Hours Water Rescue Team were dispatched to the area of the North End Pavilion for a report of a missing adult last seen in the Ocean. While getting information from the caller the missing adult was located on the beach.
September 14th
In the 1300 block of Third Avenue, Sherif Abouzid 27, Spring Lake was arrested by Patrolman Joseph Liddy. Abouzid was charged with aggrivated assault – strangulation, simple assault and theft by unlawful taking or disposition. Abouzid was transported to Monmouth County Correctional Institution.
